Matt Jones, our SVP, Strategy & Creative at Jack, presented at the Australasia National Conference this week. He spoke about the need to think about sponsorship differently and ways to make it a win-win-win situation.

Seems like everything is going Pop-Up these days…
…stores, restaurants, art installations…but a Pop-Up hotel opens ups an interesting opportunity. The internet phenom airbnb was created around this idea that there’s a great need for a high volume of accommodations for a finite period of time.
Not only could brands use the opportunity to integrate into sponsorship activations (imagine a pop-up hotel sponsored by evian during Coachella), BUT (and I’d argue perhaps more importantly) it also provides a greater chance for interesting design—a practice in function, aesthetic and sustainability.

Branding the Sports Experience

A new study released in Ad Age today reveals that sports jerseys are “prime” real estate for marketers…as in potentially $370 million in ad value “prime.”

So are the jerseys the final frontier? What about the playing surface, seat backs, bats, balls, etc.? Will the branding be so watered down we won’t see it anymore?

I’ll always remember my trip to the “Dean Dome” (Smith Center) at North Carolina University in the mid 1990’s. By design, there were no ads visible from the seats. The sports experience was center stage, and it made for a serene feel with only light Tar Heel blue surrounding the fans.
