In a race to compete with digital stores that micro-target ads for specific brands, a slew of futuristic kiosks are in development that will bring that same kind of specificity to your local shopping mall.
Equipped with cameras and motion detectors, the futuristic kiosks will estimate your age and gender (among other things), and make recommendations on where in the mall you can go for clothing targetted at your age, rough demographic and (presumably) mood. The systems not only promote specific brands, they can spit out specific offers or promotions designed to get you to try something new.
Funny, but I already have a system that looks me over quickly and makes specific suggestions on where I can go to get a haircut, new pair of “big-boy pants”, logo-free t-shirt, and a dish of pasta. It’s called my mother.
