Avis is moving away from its 50 year-old “We try harder” tagline. It’s hard to think of anything in marketing that’s lasted 50 years!

Intended to be more consumer-centric, the new campaign moves away from the internal/employee rallying cry quality of the “We try harder” message—one of the many things that made it so successful when Paula Green hatched it at DDB in 1962.
